The Renewable Energy Skills Partnership - which GCP Europe is one of the co-coordinators - has updated its recently published skills paper, where it identified 4 priorities and 18 recommendations, by including best practice examples from across Europe related to renewable energy trainings.
These practices include:
- RenewAcad - Net0Academy, an academy of counseling and vocational training for renewable energy sources.
- Green Tech Skillnet, an Irish training provider who works with employers to understand urgent skills needs in renewable electricity.
- EUREC - The Association of European Renewable Energy Research Centres’ Master Programmes for various renewable technologies.
- OHKW - Ohne Hände keine Wende’s career change courses.
- PRODEVAL's in-house training centre.
The Partnership is calling on the European Commission to:
- Prioritise renewable energy skills and workforce building in policymaking
- Boost the visibility and attractiveness of technical, scientific, and engineering careers in the renewables sector
- Foster recognition and mobility in educational pathways and the job market
- Ensure a strong and swift response to skills needs
